Recently, I stayed at Royal Mansour Tamuda Bay, a beautiful and luxurious resort on Moroccoβs northern coast. This region, located just 14 km from Spain, surprised me with the beauty of its natural surroundings: mountains, forests and a beautiful coastline. Everything, including the roads and surrounding areas, was exceptionally clean and well maintained, with very little traffic.

If youβre considering a stay at Royal Mansour Tamuda Bay, this review covers everything you need to know before booking, from the suites and restaurants to the beach, kidsβ club, wellness facilities and airport transfers. Iβll also share my personal impressions of the resort and explain why it could be an excellent choice for a luxury holiday in Morocco.
β
The main city in the region is Tangier, whose airport (TNG) is served by many airlines. From there, the drive to the resort takes approximately 1 hour and 35 minutes.
However, the nearest airport is Tetouan (TTN), which is also served by several airlines offering connections to various destinations.
Royal Air Maroc operates flights from destinations including:
* London Gatwick, approximately 3 hours and 5 minutes
* Paris Charles de Gaulle, approximately 3 hours
* Brussels, approximately 3 hours and 5 minutes
Low-cost airlines, including Air Arabia and Ryanair, also operate flights to Tetouan from destinations such as MΓ‘laga, Marseille, Madrid, Alicante, Amsterdam and Barcelona, depending on the season and schedule.
From Tetouan Airport, the resort is only a 20-minute drive away, making the transfer particularly quick and convenient.
Airport transfer arrangements depend on the accommodation category and booking conditions. The resort offers complimentary private transfers from Tetouan, while transfers from Tangier are available for qualifying suite and villa categories. Guests travelling through Tangier can also benefit from VIP fast-track services on arrival and departure, subject to the applicable arrangements.
If youβre arriving by private jet, Tetouan Airport can also accommodate private aviation. At the moment, there are no helicopter transfer services or helipads close to the resort.

Opened in June 2024, the hotel feels very exclusive and private. Itβs no surprise that the Royal Mansour brand, which includes the well-known Royal Mansour Marrakech and Royal Mansour Casablanca, is owned by the King of Morocco.
The resort is nestled among beautiful gardens that are exceptionally well maintained. Upon arrival, youβre welcomed with a drink of hibiscus juice, traditionally appreciated for its digestive properties, as well as refreshing wet towels scented with orange blossom water.
Several members of staff are there to welcome you, and you immediately feel that youβre in good hands.
The lobby is beautiful. The design is modern, but there are plenty of Moroccan touches, including artwork by local artists and chairs upholstered in local materials. A huge glass window and glass door connect the lobby lounge directly to the gardens and the sea, creating a wonderful sense of openness.
In terms of size, I would describe Royal Mansour Tamuda Bay as an exclusive, all-suite boutique luxury resort. It feels like a resort, but itβs not massive, with only 55 accommodations, comprising suites and villas. There are no standard rooms.
Itβs very easy to walk around, as nothing is too far away. However, if you donβt feel like walking, you can use the resortβs buggies. There are also bicycles available, allowing guests to explore the property by bike, much like at resorts in the Maldives.

The resort consists of small, two-storey buildings, each containing approximately three or four suites. The accommodation is arranged in two rows, with views towards the sea, gardens or surrounding mountains depending on the category and location.
Our suite was a beautiful Deluxe Suite, the entry-level category, measuring 80 sqm. It featured a large entrance hall, followed by a lovely living room separated from the bedroom by a wall. Itβs perfect for a couple or a family travelling with one child. An extra bed or a crib can be provided for a child, as the sofa is slightly curved and is intended for sitting and lounging rather than sleeping.
Thereβs also a spacious dressing area with wardrobes, as well as a large bathroom featuring a bathtub, two sinks and a walk-in shower. The suite has a balcony or terrace with a table and chairs, where you can enjoy the sea breeze in the early morning or late evening.
The roomβs design is more modern than Moroccan, although the overall experience still incorporates some Moroccan touches.
As a welcome amenity, we received a bottle of red Moroccan wine (Vin Rouge Marocain M Grande CuvΓ©e β AOG ZaΓ«r), grapes, a generous selection of high-quality almonds, raisins, juicy dates and Moroccan sweets.
We also received a lovely beach pack containing two Royal Mansour Tamuda Bay-branded Panama hats. They look so cool, and most guests wear them, creating a sense of unity throughout the resort. Nobody looks out of place! The pack also included SPF 50 sunscreen, a beach bag and two pairs of Havaianas flip-flops featuring Royal Mansour logo badges.
The suite features many quality details, including leather furniture, elegant trays, a leathered telephone and even a leathered coffee machine.
The minibar offers wine, beer, soft drinks, a bottle of vodka, gin and whisky. For snacks, youβll find small packets of Pringles, M&Mβs, Kinder Bueno, Japanese wafers by Maison Amaury and more.
In the bathroom, youβll find luxury Moroccan toiletries by marocMaroc, including shampoo, shower gel, body lotion, facial cleanser and hand cream. Hair conditioner is provided by Leonor Greyl.
Overall, the suite feels spacious, comfortable and thoughtfully equipped, making it a lovely place to relax after a day spent at the beach or exploring the resort.

The resort has five restaurants and bars, offering a variety of dining experiences throughout the day.
One of the main restaurants is Coccinella, an Italian restaurant serving delicious dishes such as linguine with lobster, tagliolini with black truffle, vitello tonnato with coffee powder, beef fillet tagliata and, of course, a variety of pizzas. At the beginning of the meal, youβre presented with a selection of Italian and Moroccan breads. The staff also bring a trolley displaying a variety of olive oils, mostly Italian, but with a local Moroccan option as well. You can choose the one you prefer according to your taste.
Coccinella is also where breakfast is served. Breakfast is Γ la carte, with an additional display of pastries. You can order avocado toast, pancakes or eggs prepared to your liking. The staff also bring a selection of cheese, ham, exotic fruits and pastries accompanied by jams and local specialities such as amlou, a delicious spread made from roasted almonds, argan oil and honey. The orange juice here is particularly delicious.
The resort has two other restaurants: La Table, serving Asian cuisine, and Le MΓ©diterranΓ©e, offering Mediterranean dishes, predominantly Spanish-inspired cuisine. The latter is associated with the renowned three-Michelin-star chef Quique Dacosta.
During the day, when youβre spending time at the beach or by the pool, you might want to enjoy a leisurely lunch at Pool Beach restaurant. While sipping fresh mango juice and enjoying delicious seafood, you can admire the amazing sea views.
Past the lobby, a left wing running parallel to the idyllic garden leads to the Royal Mansour Tamuda Bay lounge bar. Here, youβre immediately immersed in a club-like setting, with a striking spiral staircase inspired by the seashells found along the shore. You can make yourself comfortable in the library, the cigar lounge, along the bar or on the terrace with its panoramic views. Wherever you choose to relax, youβll instantly feel as though youβve escaped from the outside world. On some evenings, a live pianist provides the musical accompaniment, adding to the elegant atmosphere.

The beach is really beautiful, wide and, most importantly, sandy. There are plenty of seashells, and the seashell is actually one of the symbols of the resort. Access to the sea is straightforward. The water is usually calm, although there can be waves when itβs windy. Overall, itβs a lovely beach for swimming and spending time with children.
There are quite a few stylish sunbeds with red and white details, which look particularly charming. The main pool area is just nearby, so you can easily move between the beach and the pool throughout the day. You can also order drinks and snacks, and the staff bring little bites to enjoy, such as pieces of juicy peaches.
For me, the combination of a sandy beach, beautiful gardens and the Mediterranean Sea is one of the resortβs greatest advantages. It offers a different kind of Moroccan holiday, one centred around the sea, nature and a more relaxed pace of life.

Overall, Royal Mansour Tamuda Bay is a very family-oriented resort, making it an excellent choice for families travelling with young children. First of all, thereβs a really beautiful kidsβ club, La Plage de Lila, with trained staff and a variety of programmes for children.
The kidsβ club is designed for children aged four to twelve. Younger children may be able to use the facilities under the required supervision, so itβs worth checking the arrangements with the resort before booking.
The resort doesnβt offer a dedicated crΓ¨che service. However, if youβre travelling with a baby, the team can help arrange a babysitter, subject to availability and the resortβs minimum-age requirements, which is currently 9 months.
For families, the combination of spacious accommodation, a sandy beach, swimming pools and dedicated childrenβs facilities makes the resort particularly appealing.
Iβd recommend discussing your childrenβs ages and childcare requirements with your travel advisor before confirming your stay, especially if youβre travelling with a baby or toddler.

The resort is home to an impressive Medi-Spa spanning 4,300 sqm, making it one of the major highlights of the property. Itβs a beautiful and grand space, offering two swimming pools, one of which is saltwater, as well as separate menβs and womenβs areas. Each has its own sauna, steam room and lounge areas.
There are numerous treatment rooms, including a coupleβs treatment room with particularly beautiful views of the gardens and sea. Whatβs important to note is that Royal Mansour Tamuda Bay is also a wellness-focused resort, attracting guests who visit specifically for health and wellbeing.
The resort offers medical consultations and personalised wellness programmes, including Longevity programmes, allowing guests to select an approach suited to their individual needs.Β Itβs no surprise that some of the resortβs competitors are other medical and wellness hotels in the Mediterranean, including SHA Wellness in Spain, ZEM Wellness Clinic Altea in Alicante and Lily of the Valley near Saint-Tropez.
Of course, thereβs also a spacious, modern gym, a Leonor Greyl hair salon, manicure and pedicure services, and more. Whether youβre looking for a relaxing spa break or a more structured wellness stay, the resort offers facilities that make it possible to focus on your wellbeing without sacrificing the comfort and service of a luxury holiday.
β
I would describe Royal Mansour Tamuda Bay as an exceptionally exclusive place, perfect for clients who expect the best in terms of design, service, location and wellness facilities. Itβs also ideal for those who want to feel that the staff know them personally and genuinely care about their experience.
The resort is particularly well suited to two types of guests: families with children and wellness-focused travellers. For families, the advantages include a beautiful sandy beach, spacious accommodation and a dedicated kidsβ club. For wellness-focused travellers, the highlights are the extensive spa facilities, personalised programmes and impressive wellness amenities.
Another important point is the beauty of the surrounding nature. Morocco is sometimes associated with dry, desert-like landscapes, but thatβs not what youβll find here. Instead, the region offers beautifully maintained gardens, green mountains and the deep blue Mediterranean Sea.
For many European travellers, particularly those coming from London, Paris, Brussels or certain Spanish cities, reaching the resort is relatively easy. Flights to Tetouan are available from several European destinations, followed by a convenient 20-minute drive to the hotel. Alternatively, Tangier is served by a wider range of airlines, and the drive to the resort takes approximately 1 hour and 35β40 minutes.
Itβs also worth noting that the resort is open all year round. The best weather for a beach holiday is generally from late April to mid-October, while the period from late October to early April can be ideal for wellness-focused trips, depending on your preferences and the weather.
Royal Mansour Tamuda Bay is a destination in its own right, whether youβre coming for the beach or a wellness programme. However, it can also be a wonderful stop on a longer Moroccan itinerary, combining the Mediterranean coast with other destinations in the country.
My verdict: if youβre looking for an exclusive luxury resort on Moroccoβs northern coast, with beautiful natural surroundings, personalised service, excellent wellness facilities and a family-friendly atmosphere, Royal Mansour Tamuda Bay is certainly worth considering.
