What is Mandarin Oriental Fan Club?

Mandarin Oriental Fan Club is designed for bookings made through selected travel advisors.

It is separate from the public Fans of M.O. guest recognition programme. Fans of M.O. offers its own member privileges, while Fan Club is the preferred advisor channel through which clients can receive additional benefits and VIP recognition at Mandarin Oriental hotels.

When I make a Mandarin Oriental reservation through Fan Club, the booking is associated with my agency and the hotel knows that you are arriving as a preferred travel advisor client. This can make a meaningful difference to the stay.

What benefits can you receive?

The exact Fan Club benefits can vary depending on the hotel and the rate, but they can include:

* Room or suite upgrade, subject to availability
* Early check-in, subject to availability
* Late check-out, subject to availability
* VIP recognition at the hotel

Can you get an upgrade?

One of the questions I am asked most often is about room upgrades. With eligible Fan Club bookings, a room or suite upgrade may be available subject to availability, generally at the time of arrival.

This is particularly useful when choosing between room categories. I can look at the available options and advise whether it makes sense to book a higher category or whether there is a good opportunity to receive an upgrade.

Of course, an upgrade is never something I would promise unless the particular rate or offer specifically guarantees it.

What if you have already booked Mandarin Oriental directly?

This is one of the most useful things to know. If you have already booked your Mandarin Oriental stay directly, don’t automatically assume that you have missed out on the VIP benefits.

Contact me and send me your reservation confirmation number, surname and stay dates. I can check the existing reservation and see whether it is possible to associate it with my agency and add the available Fan Club benefits.

Depending on the rate and booking conditions, the reservation may be eligible to be transferred or rebooked with the Fan Club benefits while keeping the applicable rate and conditions. It is always worth checking before cancelling anything yourself.

If the reservation is eligible, I can arrange for the hotel to recognise you as my VIP client and add the available amenities to the booking.
